Brandon Travel provides a growing collection of open datasets built to support travelers, travel researchers, developers, and anyone working with global travel information. These datasets form the foundation of many Brandon Travel tools, analyses, and guides, and are available for anyone to use, adapt, or build upon.

Whether you're designing an app, comparing destinations, integrating travel data into a project, or simply exploring the world through numbers, this collection aims to offer clean, structured, and easy-to-use resources.

Airports Dataset

This dataset brings together airport information from around the world, including identifiers, geographic coordinates, and other operational details. It is designed to support everything from aviation analysis to basic trip-planning tools. Developers often use it for tasks like mapping routes or identifying nearby airports simply by coordinating latitude and longitude.

Countries Dataset

The Countries Dataset combines geographic, demographic, and traveler-relevant data into one source. It includes details such as capital cities, time zones, currencies, languages, and regional classifications. It is particularly useful for travel guides, planning tools, digital nomad resources, and comparative travel research.

Cities Dataset

This dataset focuses on major global cities and includes foundational travel-oriented information like population, elevation, transportation access, and climate basics. It supports tools and articles related to city ranking, travel costs, digital nomad suitability, and broader urban analysis.

Languages Dataset

The Languages Dataset offers structured information on global languages, with ISO codes, spoken regions, and basic script details. It provides a valuable base for language-learning tools, travel phrasebooks, multilingual apps, and cultural introductions within travel guides.

Airlines Dataset

The Airlines Dataset catalogues airlines around the world using standardized identifiers, including IATA and ICAO codes, callsigns, and country associations. It is particularly useful for flight-tracking applications, route analysis, travel-tech products, and research into global air networks.

Upcoming Datasets

Brandon Travel is developing several additional datasets to support modern travelers and travel researchers. These include a Digital Nomad Visas Dataset outlining eligibility criteria, income requirements, durations, and fees for remote-work visas around the world. Another forthcoming dataset focuses on entry requirements and travel conditions, summarizing passport validity rules, eVisa options, stay limits, and other essential details. Broader tourism and mobility indicators—such as visitor flows and seasonal patterns—are also in development to assist with analysis and long-term planning.

Formats and Availability

Each dataset is offered in multiple formats to support different workflows. JSON provides a developer-friendly structure suitable for APIs and applications, while CSV offers compatibility with spreadsheets and analytical tools. Human-readable documentation is available through Markdown, and versioned releases on GitHub ensure long-term stability and reproducibility.

Licensing

All datasets are released under the Creative Commons Zero v1.0 Universal (CC0) license. This means they are fully open and unrestricted: you may copy, modify, distribute, or use the data for any purpose, including commercial work. Attributions are welcome but not required.
